Potomac Pedalers is a non-profit educational, recreational and social organization for bicycling enthusiasts. We are the largest cycling club in the Washington, D.C. region, and we're also one of the largest bike clubs in the nation. This group was founded in Fredrick County and has grown to include cyclists throughout Maryland as well as Pennsylvania and Virginia. This is a group for people looking to do all types of triathlon training with a group. From sprints to Iron Man distances and even Tough Mudders! I started this group because I made a deal with myself 4 years ago to complete an Iron Man before I turn 40. I turn 40 in January 2014....I also have 3 kids and a job which make it nearly impossible to accomplish this alone!

I love heading out on the W&OD trail, but would enjoy group challenges... Further distances, other routes, better riding. If you're a new rider and/or have a recumbent, this group might be good for you. I'm still new to my recumbent, but I love the comfort and now am looking to expand my experiences and fitness through it. If you're a beginner or rusty rider ( recumbent or not) this might be a good place to start.
